The Arizona State University Instructional Support Survey 2025 examines faculty instructional responsibilities, practices, and support needs across the institution. Designed to inform data driven decision-making the survey provides insight into how faculty approach teaching and professional development, utilize institutional resources, integrate emerging technologies, and engage with evolving instructional tools. By capturing perspectives across appointment types, including tenured, tenure-track, and career-track/other faculty, the survey offers a comprehensive view of the instructional landscape at ASU.

To better understand the current state of teaching and learning, the survey includes questions on professional responsibilities, teaching strategies, instructional support systems, and the role of the university library. It also explores faculty engagement with open educational resources (OER) and generative artificial intelligence (AI), two areas of growing strategic importance in higher education. In addition to examining current practices, the survey assesses perceptions of institutional support, the value of available services, and areas where additional guidance or recognition may be needed.

In this report, we present findings from the qualitative and quantitative survey data, organized into thematic sections that reflect key dimensions of faculty instructional work. These results provide an institutional snapshot of teaching at ASU and identify strengths, emerging trends, and opportunities for continued investment in instructional excellence.

Included are the Instructional Support Survey 2025 Report, the slides from the March 30, 2026 presentation to the University Senate, and the ASU ITHAKA S+R Instructional Support Survey 2025 instrument.
