The COVID-19 pandemic has and will continue to radically shift the workplace. An increasing percentage of the workforce desires flexible working options and, as such, firms are likely to require less office space going forward. Additionally, the economic downturn caused by the pandemic provides an opportunity for companies to secure

The COVID-19 pandemic has and will continue to radically shift the workplace. An increasing percentage of the workforce desires flexible working options and, as such, firms are likely to require less office space going forward. Additionally, the economic downturn caused by the pandemic provides an opportunity for companies to secure favorable rent rates on new lease agreements. This project aims to evaluate and measure Company X’s potential cost savings from terminating current leases and downsizing office space in five selected cities. Along with city-specific real estate market research and forecasts, we employ a four-stage model of Company X’s real estate negotiation process to analyze whether existing lease agreements in these cities should be renewed or terminated.

An increasing percentage of the workforce desires flexible working options and, as such, firms are likely to require less office space going forward. The object of the present study is to examine methods in which the company can optimize their costs on third-party suppliers whom oversee other third-party trade labor. The third parties in scope of this study are suspected to overstaff their workforce, thus overcharging the company. We will introduce a complex spreadsheet model that will propose a proper project staffing level based on key qualitative variables and statistics. Using the model outputs, the Thesis team proposes a headcount solution for the company and problem areas to focus on, going forward. All sources of information come from company proprietary and confidential documents.

"Company X," a technology company, is known for being one of the world’s largest semiconductor chip manufacturers; however, they are also one of the largest authors of software. In 2019, "Company X" entered a new paradigm where, according to the CEO, while "Company X"’s core strategy has not changed, "Company X" is embracing the transition to a data-centric company from a PC-centric company. The scope that the project examines is--in this transition to a data-centric company and based on the company's current expertise and competitive advantages--should "Company X" be branching into an additional division or leverage existing intellectual property (IP)? The goal of the project is to understand how "Company X" can leverage its expertise in hardware and software service packages to maximize the value of the company.

There is a growing demand for discrete graphics processing units (dGPU) in the internet of things. Our subject company, Company X, has decided to develop a dGPU to be used in client computing (desktops, laptops, etc). This project will address whether or not company X should invest time and money

There is a growing demand for discrete graphics processing units (dGPU) in the internet of things. Our subject company, Company X, has decided to develop a dGPU to be used in client computing (desktops, laptops, etc). This project will address whether or not company X should invest time and money into adopting their existing client focused dGPU for applications in IoT such as digital signage, gaming, or medical imaging. If this investment is to be made, we will also make specific recommendations about how Company X should enter the IoT space. The project will be completed in three stages. The first stage will consist of an analysis of the competitive landscape and research on dGPUs and how they differ from integrated GPUs. Stage two will focus primarily on the IoT space and how the competitors are using dGPUs in the IoT along with an analysis of three potential use cases for Company X’s dGPU. Finally, we will build a comprehensive financial model based on our research of one specific IoT segment where Company X could potentially enter. Based on these stages, we will then offer a conclusion and recommendation on whether Company X should invest in this project.
