Our Idea: As a team of engineers, two in the engineering field and one in computer science and software development, we wanted to find a way to put these skills to use in our company. As we did not have a revolutionary idea to build our own product, we wanted to base our company on the assumption that people have great ideas and lack the ability to execute on these ideas. Our mission is to enable these people and companies to make their ideas a reality, and allow them to go to market with a clean and user friendly product. We are using our skills and experience in hardware and device prototyping and testing, as well as software design and development to make this happen. Implementation: To this point, we have been working with a client building a human diagnostic and enhancement AI device. We have been consulting on mostly the design and creation of their first proof of concept, working on hardware and sensor interaction as well as developing the software allowing their platform to come to life. We have been working closely with the leaders of the company, who have the ideas and business knowledge, while we focus on the technology side. As for the scalability and market potential of our business, we believe that the potential market is not the limiting factor. Instead, the limiting factor to the growth of our business is the time we have to devote. We are currently only working with one client, and not looking to expand into new clients. We believe this would require the addition of new team members, but instead we are happy with the progress we are making at the moment. We believe we are not only building equity in business we believe in, but also building a product that could help the safety and wellness of our users.

Widening economic inequality has been identified as a moral challenge that constitutes a global impediment to socioeconomic well-being. While incongruities exist within any dynamic system, a sustained unequal value distribution can lead to social and economic obstructions for individuals and communities. Entrepreneurship has been identified as a force for good and subsequently funded as an institutional methodology to disburse well-being by democratizing economic empowerment. Current popular approaches are institutionalized in wealthier Western contexts, encapsulated in linear narratives, and aggressively exported to new, foreign environments. Due to the often-unrecognized philosophical assumptions underlying these narratives, current approaches tend to limit the benefits of entrepreneurship to specific audiences and position the promoting institutions as entrepreneurial imperialists, creating an economic hegemony as they reinforce current power dynamics and save the most valuable entrepreneurial exchanges for those with access and resources, often benefiting the institutions economically. While much has been written on removing the impediments to current entrepreneurial approaches, this dissertation prioritizes practical utility by proposing the need for a refreshed philosophical approach, a new entrepreneurial narrative, and dynamic institutional networks that prioritize autonomy towards more effectively engaging a favorite of current entrepreneurial narratives: the rising generation.

With the reality that 60% of post-graduates are less satisfied with their social life in adulthood than in college, many young adults find themselves searching to solve the shared fear of finding communities in new spheres of life. Jillian Cote and Mia Cavalier's social application concept, "The Loop", addresses this problem through unique recommendations based on location services, authentic UGC, and entertaining digital appearances. Through extensive research and development, a prototype has been designed for the application interface, and intensive surveys and interviews have been conducted to pinpoint target markets, consumer interest, and ultimate adoption potential. At its core, "The Loop" is a modern, efficient, and functional social application for young adults and post-graduates to stay connected to key parts of their lives regardless of the life phase they’re in. It allows each individual to focus on what’s important to them, while the app keeps them in the loop for everything else.
