The need for cleaner, renewable energy is at a high demand as our world is at a critical point in changing the way in which we source our energy. Petroleum, coal, and natural gas are becoming less relevant. Energy sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal energy are becoming more resource-able and dependable options. As we, as a society, become more cautious as to how we take care of our planet, we must continue to look into renewable energy sources. Tidal wave energy has been a concept some companies and governments have been researching into. Tidal wave energy has been used for over a thousand years, originally used to operate grain mills in Europe. It is important as a society to understand how we resource and collect our energy sources, as we lean away from nonrenewable sources to more eco-friendly options. Having a deep understanding of how the system in place works allows society to better alter and adapt its use to better fit our needs. How tidal wave energy is collected and stored, for the most part, follows the same pattern/structure for all companies. Wave energy converters capture the tidal wave energy and are then converted into electricity. This electricity can then be put into the grid system, being able to power households. However, how tidal wave energy platforms are created can have a relatively big range in their design. Designing a tidal wave system that maximizes the amount of energy collected, while also limiting harm to sea-life, will allow for greater ways to support the energy needed for human purposes as nonrenewable energy begins to phase out of many industries. The intent for this thesis research paper is to dive into the mathematical analysis such as static and theoretical stress analysis for an offshore single body point absorber. Due to design limitations, the design for this thesis paper will be purely conceptual. Therefore, this design is analyzed purely for the intent to demonstrate mathematical findings for the gear and shaft system and understanding its potential limitations within the design. From the research and mathematical analysis, specific measurements and forces were calculated in order to determine what is needed to ensure no failure occurs within the system and the energy is collected for potential use.

Dental Support Organizations (DSOs) have had a steady increase in popularity since the 2010s. This thesis set out to determine why they have become so popular, and if it would be advantageous to eventually partner with one. It was determined that the steady increase has resulted from a variety of factors including the ability to take advantage of economies of scale, increased cost of schooling, inflated costs of opening a practice, and the wide differentiation of demographics entering the dental industry. The most advantageous factor seemed to be the guaranteed retirement DSOs can provide. Newer DSO models have emerged including IDSOs and DPOs, which provide greater autonomy while incorporating traditional DSO benefits, boosting the popularity of DSOs. These newer models appear to be the best to partner with. In addition, specialty DSOs venture outside of general dentistry to focus on dental specialties like orthodontia and have the potential for higher profitability. DSOs will only become more prevalent with time and are an important tool for any dentist to consider taking advantage of.

The influx of readily available sports data has transformed the landscape of recruitment analysis conducted in European soccer leagues. Clubs now have access to a repository of information that helps to monitor the status of current players and filter those they wish to recruit. Supplemented by extensive financial backing, the teams in the English Premier League have shifted from a local, more traditional approach to a focus on the acquisition of players in international markets. This paper analyzes the rapid effects of implementing a data-driven approach to recruitment and argues that the dominance of Liverpool in the EPL from 2017 to 2022 has stemmed from a superior focus in this data-driven recruitment compared to other clubs in the league, specifically Manchester United. Other teams have recently shifted their structures to model the modern, fast flow of data that the two European super clubs manage each season yet consistently fail to match either. Furthermore, this project establishes the feasible prospect of clubs prioritizing their staffing for data over other departments, including players.

The Supply Chain of a company is the most critical component of a business as it directly impacts a company’s ability to deliver products/services to customers is a timely, cost effective method. With this amount of importance, a resilient supply chain is pivotal for positive future earnings in each successive quarter. Two pivotal metrics to gauge a Supply Chain include Production Delays and Excess Inventory. Through in-depth analysis, it was found that these metrics had caused abnormal amounts of price volatility with a stock’s performance. Understanding these metrics, the impact and lesson that COVID had taught, and analyzing earnings transcripts of publicly traded company’s demonstrates the use of Supply Chain health in comparison to company performance. This thesis aims to examine how a company's supply chain affects its performance, by analyzing different metrics and disruptions that have caused significant volatility in the stock market. The objective is to help investors maximize their profitability or reduce their risk by identifying the key factors that impact a company's supply chain.

This paper argues that the representation of diversity in Asian American genders and sexualities in the media challenges US stereotypes of Asian American masculinity and femininity and offers alternatives for both Asian American and white US audiences to be exposed to and thereby potentially reconsider, non-normative gender and sexual identities of Asian Americans. For the purposes of this paper, four different anime will be analyzed for their insight on: (a) the formation of queer identity of Asian characters and (b) observations on how diverse and accurate representations of Asian gender and sexuality has the potential to influence the creation of broader representations of Asian and Asian American gender and sexuality in the future. The four anime analyzed for these purposes were Wandering Son (Hōrō Musuko), Sweet Blue Flowers (Aoi Hana), My Hero Academia (Boku No Hero Academia), and The Legend of Korra.

Billionaires are a relatively new phenomenon, yet their influence is immense. Some billionaires hide in the shadows, and others are at the forefront of our society. With the advent of social media, the reach of billionaires at the forefront has expanded exponentially. Some sport their fancy lifestyles, some preach their views on the world, and some share what it takes to become like them. With 2.562 billion monthly YouTube users and millions of views for any video with or about billionaires, the reach the highly wealthy have is immense. So many are watching, raising two questions are the viewers watching with the intent of learning how to become a billionaire themselves or are they purely focused on entertainment value? Additionally, what purpose does speaking to the masses through YouTube serve for the wealthiest individuals in the world? This paper will attempt to answer these questions and dive deeper into the billionaire YouTube landscape. There will be a discussion of the immense power of billionaires, what it means to be one, and an analysis of a select few of America’s wealthiest individuals. Hopefully, this will give a better perspective on the wealth-based social media landscape.

The hit of the global COVID-19 pandemic altered the state of the world in ways that no one had predicted. The challenges that arose were not only limited to health concerns but went further into the political, social, and economic levels. There were countless industries that were impacted including manufacturing, hotels/restaurants, airlines, apparel, etc. With this pandemic there were greater level of setbacks for businesses than could have been expected to happen, which created consequences not only for the government but for the consumers as well. The government was inevitably handed the sudden increased responsibility of healthcare distribution as well as executing decisions for business closures and post-pandemic assistance for reopening. This paper will use data collected by several government sources and independent research bases to investigate the world before, during, and after the pandemic. With the information presented the goal is to give insights into what actually happened and shifted during the pandemic as well as what strategies are being implemented currently to help bounce back from the initial drastic hit. Alongside this it is hoped that a greater understanding of the challenges that are being faced shows where there could be more resources and focus provided in order to help both domestic and international businesses recover to pre-pandemic states.

This meta-study analyzes the shift in research literature that focuses on the various shared causes of type 2 diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease from the years 2000 to 2022. Examining literature trends over the past two decades can offer valuable insight into the evolving emphasis on various topics. Altogether, a total of 154 publications were collected from the Pubmed and ResearchGate databases using a non-biased protocol and methodology. Each paper was then categorized by the topics it discussed. Visual representation of the data such as bar graphs and tables were created to comprehend the trends presented in the group of papers. The collection of publications were then differentiated into years of early (prior to 2005 or 2010) and late (after 2006 or 2011) periods to perform a statistical analysis of the patterns in the timeline. The increase in publications discussing Alzheimer’s disease, amyloid beta deposition, gut microbiota, mitochondrial dysfunction, type 2 diabetes, and tau hyperphosphorylation from the early to the late period were statistically significant. This means that the increase was not due to random chance, but rather supported by evidence. This can be attributed to researchers and physicians discovering more evidence that establishes a link between specific factors, type 2 diabetes, and Alzheimer’s disease. This reflects a genuine acknowledgment of the importance of understanding and addressing the relationship between these two pathologies. Research in the trends of literature can provide information in which areas of research are the most studied or understudied. Based on these findings, the identification of areas with limited knowledge and potential research directions can be inferred, ultimately leading to the enhancement of preventive measures and therapeutic approaches for these conditions.
