Media and technology are integral parts of today’s society. Unlike in the past, most adults in the United States now have access to the internet via their own personal devices. Technology’s popularity does not stop with adults. The children of this generation are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to media and technology and are exposed to it at a very young age. This paper analyzes the effect that this exposure is having on early childhood development. The research shows that there are several benefits to children using technology at a young age. Some of these benefits include increased learning opportunities, preparation for future careers, and support for children with disabilities. However, there are also several challenges that technology can cause. Some of these challenges include increased violence, exposure to inappropriate content, sleep issues, and an increased chance of obesity. In addition to this paper, a resource website titled Toddlers and Technology was created. The purpose of this website is to give parents insight into the information that is available in regards to technology and child development. The website includes the benefits and challenges of children using technology, recommendations on how parents can combat the challenges, and a list of 10 educational apps for early childhood development.

The history of Arizona is filled with ambitious pioneers, courageous Natives, and loyal
soldiers, but there is a seeming disconnect between those who came before us and many of those
who currently inhabit this space. Many historic locations that are vital to discovering the past in
Arizona are both hard to find and lacking in information pertaining to what happened there.
However, despite the apparent lack of history and knowledge pertaining to these locations, they
are vitally present in the public memory of the region, and we wish to shed some much-needed
light on a few of these locations and the historical takeaways that can be gleaned from their
study. This thesis argues the significance of three concepts: place-making, public memory, and
stories. Place-making is the reinvention of history in the theater of mind which creates a
plausible reality of the past through what is known in the present. Public memory is a way to
explain how events in a location affect the public consciousness regarding that site and further
events that stem from it. Lastly, stories about a place and event help to explain its overall impact
and what can be learned from the occurrences there. Throughout this thesis we will be discussing
seven sites across Arizona, the events that occurred there, and how these three aspects of study
can be used to experience history in a personal way that gives us a special perspective on the
land around us. The importance of personalizing history lies in finding our own identity as
inhabitants of this land we call home and knowing the stories gives us greater attachment to the
larger narrative of humanity as it has existed in this space.

The privatization of prisons within Arizona has been a hot button issue and needs to be further analyzed to determine their benefits and expenses. To begin this investigation into the effectiveness of private prisons within Arizona and possible steps that need to be taken for its rehabilitation certain definitions and prior research need to be understood. Following this explanation, areas such as costs analysis across different types of prisons, liability rates across differing types of prison guards, and the differing psychology of different types of prisons can be examined to gain an overall assessment of the current performance of privatized prisons within Arizona. After this in-depth analysis of the current private prison system within Arizona, the flaws of the system will become abundantly clear and the solutions that should be implemented to alleviate these problems will be discussed.

Since its introduction, the use of technology has been rapidly expanding and has been integrated into almost every aspect of daily life. Alongside this growth, there has been an increasingly urgent movement for sustainability and to fight climate change. Because technology is so prevalent in society today, it is important to understand how the use of technology relates to sustainability and climate change. While technology has been beneficial to society, it requires vast amounts of energy to power, which causes significant environmental degradation. On the other hand, technology also has provided useful in reducing carbon emissions and mitigating the effects of climate change. This can be seen in areas such as efficient transportation and logistics systems and smart cities. Thus, technology has the potential to positively impact the environment, but its negative effects must also be reduced. Technology companies also play a large role in the reduction of carbon emissions, as they provide much of the services and technology that we use today. Companies such as Google, Amazon, and Microsoft have all made commitments to sustainability, and it is important that they are held accountable to these commitments. Additionally, as new technologies emerge, their environmental impact must also be calculated. The findings of this thesis show that the main negative impacts of technology come from its energy use and its life cycle, while the main positive impacts come from its indirect effect on production processes, systems, and industries. In the long-term, these indirect positive effects are expected to increase, but the energy demands of technology will also increase. Therefore, managing the energy demands of technology while also allowing for increased efficiency and reductions in carbon emissions is the main challenge that companies face regarding sustainability.

Over the past few years, legislation legalizing sports betting in many states has been voted into effect. In the spring of 2021, Arizona legislators approved a bill that would legalize sports betting for anyone over the age of 21 in Arizona, and with Governor Doug Ducey signing the bill into law, September 9, 2021, marked the first day of legal sports betting in Arizona. Due to this new major avenue of business, sports betting became a very popular topic in both the news and social media, creating a buzz for new users in Arizona. This study will focus on the sports betting industry and the major companies involved in creating sports betting infrastructure in Arizona. Data will be collected and analyzed from multiple sources including company financial statements, news articles, and independent research focusing on the financial impact of Arizona sports bettors on the sports betting industry’s market profitability. It is expected that there will be a correlation between money gambled in Arizona and a rapid increase in profitability for sports betting companies. This study will provide an overview of the economic impact that sports betting had in Arizona in 2021, and look towards the future of betting in years to come.

Supply chain sustainability has become an increasingly important topic for corporations due to consumer demands, regulatory requirements, and employee retention and productivity. Since more and more stakeholders are beginning to care about sustainability, companies are looking at how they can reduce their carbon footprint without it leading to higher costs. Although sustainable supply chain operations are often associated with higher costs, new technology has surfaced within the last decade that makes this association come into question. This paper serves as an investigation on whether or not implementation of recent technology will not only make for more sustainable supply chains, but also bring cost savings to a company. For the sake of simplicity, this paper analyzes the topic within the context of the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry. The three categories of technology that were evaluated are artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, and data integration systems. Internship projects and/or published case studies and articles were examined to explore the relationship between the technology, supply chain sustainability, and costs. The findings of this paper indicate that recent technology offers companies innovative sustainability solutions to supply chains without sacrificing cost. This calls for CPG companies to invest in and implement technology that allows for more sustainable supply chains. Shying away from this because of cost concerns is no longer necessary.

This paper is a beginner’s guide to the product management (PM) career. The paper starts with an introduction to myself and my product management journey, as well as my purpose in writing the guide. Next, I cover the basics of a product management career, such as career path, salaries, job descriptions, responsibilities and characteristics of product managers, and the different types of product managers. I then go in depth on the product development lifecycle, the place where the product manager’s work resides. The product development lifecycle consists of: finding and planning the right opportunity, designing the solution, building the solution, sharing the solution, and assessing the solution. Product managers work cross-functionally with marketing, design, and engineering teams. After discussing each step to the process, I move into the topic of how to get the knowledge and skillset necessary for a product management job. This includes tips and advice on degree choice, books, websites, PM internships and full-time jobs, and how to prepare for interviews. The guide provides fundamental information about product management, getting a product management job, and where to go after to learn more.

Regenerative medicine is a relatively new area of interest among researchers and physicians alike and has truly come to light within the last twenty years. Its purpose is to “regenerate” cells in our body to return tissue and organs systems to their normal functions by utilizing innate cell mechanisms. Uses have ranged from growing completely new body tissue in labs, to promoting the repair of damaged neurons. More recently, the use of regenerative medicine techniques such as stem cell and platelet rich plasma therapy has seen significant growth throughout high level and professional sports. Beginning in the early 2000s, treatments quickly gained popularity as professional athletes began using them as an alternative to surgery, but this came before any concrete scientific support. This thesis paper will analyze the current statistical data supporting the use of platelet rich plasma and stem cell therapy and associated regulations to describe the connection between regenerative medicine and sports.
