Description
1986 Tapestry III (9’) for Tuba and electronic tape performed by Daniel Perantoni.
Tapestry III for tuba and synthesizers was commissioned by Dan Perantoni who premiered the work December 5, 1986 in Tempe, Arizona with choreography by Sybil Huskey. As the title indicates, this is one of a series of solo works, each of which is based on continuous variation of short motivic patterns generating larger dramatic scenes. This work uses a digital-audio accompaniment to create a dialogue with the supernatural. A 1980’s video of the the award winning choreographed premiere (as “Serenade for Tuba and Wheelbarrow” - DeMars) is available through ASU library in KEEP.
