Could you imagine a world without hot sauce? Unfortunately, hot sauce is a relatively new invention, and some people have had to experience and live without the wonders and flavors it provides. RAJAJE Sauce is a veteran-owned and family-operated start-up. RAJAJE Sauce originated in the heart of Mexico, known as Mexico City, where Javier and his family enjoy it with countless servings of tacos. His mother always dreamed of bringing this hot sauce to the market, but we weren’t sure how to go about it. There were so many questions. Was there a market for this hot sauce? Do other people like the hot sauce? Who would be our audience? How would we go about marketing this product, and how would the logistics of something like this work? Through extensive research, we found that there is plenty of room for the hot sauce industry to grow, giving RAJAJE Sauce plenty of opportunities to make a name for itself and become a household name with each new customer.

Studio 31 is a startup venture founded by Brandon Goldberg, Ryan Johnston, Samuel Vogel, and Ekaterina Korneva. The company offers affordable art prints created by aspiring artists through an online platform. Our mission is to connect these artists with art lovers and provide them with the tools to build sustainable careers. Key activities of Studio 31 include curating a set of artworks, maintaining a print-on-demand system for sustainable production, and penetration of the target market through strong digital media positioning. The field of art is replete with talented artists who are just starting their professional careers and are not represented in the art market. The works of art of such artists are unknown and inaccessible to the target audience, which complicates the process of their professional development and limits the variety of artworks available on the market. Studio 31 infiltrates the art community and forms partnerships with talented artists to then provide the target market with access to exclusive artwork through an established sales and production process. The advantages of an established business process are no risk to the artist, cost-efficient production that correlates with demand, and a predictable cash flow from operations. The current state of the industry and trends affecting the target market confirm the viability of Studio 31's business model. The covid-19 crisis has affected the art market, shifting focus to online sales. Moreover, due to people spending more time at home, the demand for art products has increased. Our team is uniquely positioned to bring the Studio 31 business plan to life. With Katrin, Ryan, Brandon, and Samuel as the management team, the project is supported by expertise in entrepreneurship, management and policy, economics, marketing and design Implementation and marketing are the key activities of the company on the way to gaining traction in the target market. Studio 31 will develop multiple direct and indirect distribution channels to provide customers with diversified access to offerings. The website will serve as the main direct channel to connect with buyers, displaying the full list of offers available for order. In addition, the company will be present on numerous social media platforms in order to notify the target audience of current offers in a timely manner. Both the website and social media accounts will grow through paid advertising and influencer marketing. The project's initial funding consists of Barrett, the Honors College Thesis Funding. These resources covered the overhead costs required to get started, such as the website and initial product prototypes. The seed funding will also be used for market research and business process testing to improve the company's performance and subsequently maximize profits. The team will resort to a crowdfunding strategy if additional funding resources are needed to cover the initial costs. The project will be presented to the public to receive financial assistance for business development. The investment will be encouraged by incentives such as discounts on future sales.

Honored Brow is a local, non-profit, start-up business that specializes in brow lamination and lash lifts with tinting services. The business is founded and operated by four students enrolled in Arizona State University, Barrett, The Honors College. Honored Brow’s mission, through the thesis project, is to connect and provide brow and lash services to enhance natural beauty and empower women. To positively impact the community, Honored Brow is partnering with Dress for Success Phoenix, a nonprofit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire, and the development tools needed to help them thrive in work and in life. All proceeds raised will be donated to Dress for Success Phoenix to help them in their endeavors. Honored Brow’s target market is Arizona State University sorority members within the Greek Leadership Village, but services will be available to anyone who seeks lamination or lift services. The company exhibits a competitive advantage because the products and services extended are highly rated and certified while still being offered at an affordable price for their target market. The focus is not on making the most revenue per service, but rather on creating relationships and retaining clientele by helping make women feel good about themselves. Honored Brow’s marketing channels include an Instagram page that will feature completed services and testimonials, the Honored Brow website to schedule a service, presentations at sorority chapters, and tabling at the Greek Leadership Village to promote the business. Vista Del Sol will be used to perform the services. The thesis team has a diversified skill set and is well-positioned to succeed in the business endeavor. Two team members certified in brow lamination, lash lift, and tinting will perform the service. One team member will keep track of finances, while the other team member will oversee the website development and scheduling. The team sees great potential in the project as one of the team members has previously run an eyelash company and all proceeds will go toward a great cause.

Throughout the Barrett, the Honors College Thesis process we were tasked with creating our own entrepreneurial startup venture. Our objective was to mock up and develop a holistic fitness application that businesses can use to motivate their employees to adopt healthy habits while increasing productivity. We were able to reach out and connect with local businesses about the prospect of using our application. In addition, we included a reward system that companies can use for health experiences, such as a percentage off rock climbing or a discounted round of golf. This aided us in gaining valuable insights into who our potential clients could be and helped us narrow down our target market. We implemented a ring system in our application where employees would fulfill daily goals of physical health, mental health, sleep, and nutrition. The rings start dark red and gradient towards green as the client accomplishes their goals. The BeFit. app had separate tabs for personal health statistics, leaderboards, rewards, and intramurals that could be played against other companies. Our prototype utilizes all of these features with the goal of companies’ ability to increase their employees’ cognitive function and team morale in the workplace.
