My thesis project was creating a page on my website where I upload movie reviews. Additionally, I have created my own medium/format in which I create three different sized critical analysis reviews. This way I can continue to pursue the skills I learned from Barrett for critical and philosophical thinking in regard to films and television shows throughout my career.
This creative project is assembled in screenplay format, providing the blueprint for a feature film. The research consisted of reading numerous screenplays, breaking down movies scene by scene, and undergoing a rigorous revision process with Thesis Director Professor Greg Bernstein. The logline of Changing Tides is: After discovering a gold-filled shipwreck, five Floridian middle schoolers head out to claim their treasure when they learn that the largest hurricane ever recorded is heading their way.
A Feature-Length Screenplay written in the genre of action/adventure taking inspiration from films such as Pirates of the Caribbean and The Magnificent Seven. Developed under the guidance of Gregory Bernstein and Peter Murrieta, the screenplay explores themes such as Family Dynamics, Failure/Redemption, and Justice.
