David Peer. Place of birth: Secaucus, NJ. Currently lives in Lyndhurst, NJ. Teaches bilingual mathematics in Union City High School. Education: BA and MA completed in Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
David has lived and studied in New Jersey his whole life. Once David graduated from Rutgers University, he pursued work in one of the closest urban cities in his community. He is passionate about his work, poised, bilingual, tenured and considers this his vocation and calling.
SUMMARY OF INTERVIEW:
In this interview several topics relevant to the community of Union City are discussed. These include immigration, economic hardships, parental participation, school safety, school funding and the management of these funds. David explains why he began to teach and then explores, in detail, the issues that he contends with on a daily basis and reflects on the experiences had.
