Both technological and scientific fields continue to revolutionize in a similar fashion; however, a major difference is that high-tech corporations have found models to continue progressions while still keeping product costs low. The main objective was to identify which, if any, components of certain technological models could be used with the vaccine and pharmaceutical markets to significantly lower their costs. Smartphones and computers were the two main items investigated while the two main items from the scientific standpoint were vaccines and pharmaceuticals. One concept had the ability to conceivably decrease the costs of vaccines and drugs and that was "market competition". If the United States were able to allow competition within the vaccine and drug companies, it would allow for the product prices to be best affected. It would only take a few small companies to generate generic versions of the drugs and decrease the prices. It would force the larger competition to most likely decrease their prices. Furthermore, the PC companies use a cumulative density function (CDF) to effectively divide their price setting in each product cycle. It was predicted that if this CDF model were applied to the vaccine and drug markets, the prices would no longer have to be extreme. The corporations would be able to set the highest price for the wealthiest consumers and then slowly begin to decrease the costs for the middle and lower class. Unfortunately, the problem within the vaccine and pharmaceutical markets was not the lack of innovation or business models. The problem lied with their liberty to choose product costs due to poor U.S. government regulations.

Obesity rates among adults have steadily grown in recent decades all the way up to 42.4% in 2018. This is a 12% increase from the turn of the century (Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 2021). A major reason for this rise is increased consumption of processed, high-calorie foods. People eat these foods at a young age and develop bad eating habits that can last for the rest of their lives. It is essential to intervene early and help adolescents form balanced, healthy eating habits before bad habits are already formed. Our solution to this problem is Green Gamers. Green Gamers combines adolescent’s passion for gaming with healthy eating via in-game rewards for healthy eating. People will be able to purchase healthy food items, such as a bag of carrots, and on the packaging there will be a QR code. They will then be able to scan the code on our website, and earn points which will unlock in-game items and other rewards. Video game rewards act as effective motivators for you people to eat more healthy foods. After the solution was formulated, a preliminary survey was conducted to confirm that video game related rewards would inspire children to eat more healthy foods. Based on those results, we are currently in the process of running a secondary market research campaign to learn if gift card rewards are a stronger motivator. Our end goal for Green Gamers would be to partner with large gaming studios and food producers. This would allow us access to many gaming franchises, so that rewards are available from a wide variety of games: making the platform appealing to a diverse audience of gamers. Similarly, a relationship with large food producers would give us the ability to place QR codes on a greater assortment of healthy food items. Although no relationships with large companies have been forged yet, we plan to utilize funding to test our concept on small focus groups in schools.

Over the past several decades, the incarceration rates have continued to rise in the United States with seemingly no end in sight. Many of the prisons within America are experiencing major overcrowding of incarcerated persons in addition to an ever expanding budget that seems impossible to adhere to. Qualitative and quantitative studies conclude that preventative and post release programs reduce crime rates and recidivism which saves taxpayer dollars. This paper addresses how much prisons cost, why this is important to the taxpayer, and possible solutions to make the penal system more efficient.

A cost analysis was done on the participant recruitment for an ongoing research project to promote colon cancer screening in Phoenix, Arizona. The aim of the 5-year project is to navigate people, who do not regularly see primary care physicians, from the community to a nearby clinic to be screened, using an intervention strategy called tailored navigation. Through tailored navigation, participants' barriers to being screened are addressed by Community Health Navigators, who call the participant over the span of 8 weeks following an initial class at a community site and give them information on how to overcome his or her specific barrier. The objective of this cost analysis is to explore the costs of recruiting a participant from the community to the initial class to a potential program manager. The process of recruitment involved recruitment of a community site, project introduction, the sign-up of interested participants, eligibility, baseline, and consent tests, and the class itself. A Community Site Liaison recruits sites and schedules class times. The Community Health Navigator conducts eligibility, baseline, and consent surveys and teaches the class, a sixty minute presentation on colon cancer screening. The cost of recruitment per community site was $541.23, and the cost per participant attending class was estimated to be $1,594.41 per participant with variation between $1,379.97 and $1,770.71 in optimistic and conservative scenarios, respectively.

As more countries move toward renewable energy sources, universal acceptance is only a matter of time. It is no longer a question of if, but of when. For now, these types of energy sources can be too expensive or too complex for the average homeowner to acquire. A considerable financial investment and logistical specifications are required. My goal for this project is to create an analysis that will convey the most efficient and cost-effective way to move to a solar energy system without sacrificing output. There are many factors that go into the most practical and efficient strategy. These may include: solar tax credits, subsidies, rebates, panel type, utility company, among others. I hope to create an analysis that will enable anyone interested in taking advantage of solar power. The process outlined here will permit subjects to determine the best option for them, based on personal preferences and other related mitigating factors.

Due to the high level of competition within the semiconductor industry, companies are looking to identify potential advantages in their manufacturing processes. This paper attempts to discover when it is more cost effective to disaggregate die versus maintaining a monolithic production process. Additionally, it will examine the current conditions of the market and how the results yielded from the research could be applied most effectively. Company X needs to maintain the same or more cores on their processors to stay ahead of their competition. This means that more surface area is needed on the silicon die, encouraging the change to die disaggregation and advanced packaging solutions. In the paper, we will first provide an analysis and go through our two cost equations for monolithic and disaggregated die. We will then break down each part of our cost equations and each variable that goes into it by doing a sensitivity analysis. The sensitivity analysis will give us some insight into which variables are affecting our cost equation the most, and thus which variables Company X should pay the most attention to while deciding whether or not to continue to use the monolithic die or move to the disaggregated process. Based on our findings we came to the conclusion that Company X should continue to utilize a monolithic die for all mobile products. However, all desktop and server products should start to consider utilizing a disaggregated die on a case by case basis while examining the specific factors in the cost equation.
