<dc:description>This project outlines a proposed curriculum for an introductory Computer-Aided Design (CAD) course focused on SolidWorks. The course is designed to teach students foundational CAD skills in the context of manufacturing and inspection. Emphasis is placed on engaging and hands-on teaching methods that have been shown to improve student learning and retention. A key component of the curriculum is the introduction of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), a highly valuable skill in industry. GD&T concepts are taught through a series of hands-on metrology labs that allow students to connect design intent with real-world measurement practices. While CAD tools are introduced in the classroom, core concepts are reinforced through a collection of interactive and accessible tutorials intended to support independent learning and deeper understanding.</dc:description>
