<dc:description>This thesis explores the potential for climate-responsive edible gardens and the adaptive reuse of the senior center’s porch and public art to foster intergenerational engagement and address food insecurity in Downtown Chandler, Arizona. The project focuses on the next phase of the current proposal of Lake Flato and Dig Studio for the revitalization of the Dr. A.J. Chandler Park. This thesis will focus upon the underutilized outdoor public space surrounding the Chandler Public Library, Chandler Senior Center, and Chandler Community Center, recognizing their historical significance and potential to serve as intergenerational gathering spaces. Central to the proposal is the adaptive reuse of the Chandler Senior Center’s porch and the Entropy Walls, transforming it into a vibrant, intergenerational hub that bridges seniors, families, and youth through food-centered programming, cultural storytelling, and environmental education.</dc:description>
