<dc:description>This research set out to examine whether colonial history has contributed to a knowledge gap in the use and understanding of medicinal plants among the youth of Barbados. The results indicate that while there are noticeable differences in awareness and application between older and younger participants, both groups retain a general knowledge of commonly used medicinal plants. Despite minor gaps particularly in the recognition of less widely used or less commercialized species, there remains a strong appreciation for traditional medicine across generations.</dc:description>
