How can I arrange and perform a song that I enjoy, all by ear? My idea for this project all came from my own passion for music, as well as exploring something that I don’t have as much musical expertise in. I am a trumpet and piano player and most of my college experience has been surrounding the art of classical music. For this project my challenge is to learn “Little Birdie,” by Vince Guaraldi all by ear, then arrange and notate it for multiple instruments. The instruments in the piece will be two trumpets, trombone, tuba, drum set, bass guitar, piano, vocalist, and an egg shaker. This idea is derived from learning jazz music in a more traditional way, rather than using notation that has already been arranged by someone else. </dc:description>
