In my first year, I began writing songs with the intention of starting a band to perform these songs with. As I developed more songs and found band members, I simultaneously immersed myself into the studio to learn about recording, mixing, and mastering. To showcase the performer aspect of my specializations, I wrote and recorded a song titled “all i need” for my band, Twinstar, and went through the necessary steps for its release in late May. To go along with the single release, I created a music video to promote the song and provide a visual component to accompany the auditory experience. To showcase the producer aspect of my specializations, I engineered five of my peers’ senior capstone projects, each ranging in genre, from singer-songwriter indie folk to RnB/neo-soul.
