          <dc:description>This project reimagines William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and of Experience in a new linguistic context. It seeks to recreate Blake’s composite art form in the target text (TT), conveying not only his verbal messages, literary connotations, and pictorial elements, but also highlighting the musicality woven into his rhymed verses—an aspect that has often been downplayed in previous Chinese translations. This edition integrates prosodic features from both classical and modern Chinese poetry, reconstructing the interplay of sense and sound to reflect the rhythmic and melodic intricacies of the source text (ST). By presenting the ST and TT side by side, this bilingual edition invites verbal, visual, and musical elements to flow freely across languages, cultures, and media, allowing them to diverge and converge within an intertextual framework. Every dual-language song is accompanied by a textual commentary section that further explains the social, historical, religious, and literary contexts related to the ST. This new Chinese edition aims to inspire new artistic appreciation, whether from readers encountering Blake for the first time, those wishing to experience him in a different language, or anyone interested in exploring the nuanced relations between original and translated poetry.</dc:description>
