<dc:description>Human Papillomavirus is often conceptualized as a viral disease that typically affects a younger population and those who are sexually active. Social perception of HPV is rooted in its identity as a virus and treatment thereby. What is often overlooked are the principles of viral oncogenesis - in other words - the oncological consequences of the virus. There are at least five principal cancers that are known to be caused by HPV: penile cancer, cervical cancer, vulvovaginal cancer, anal cancer, and oropharyngeal (head and neck) cancer. The aim of penile cancer research will focus on highlighting the severe symptoms in presentation, and the unique position of the malignancy considering its relative scarcity and anatomical isolation. Research into cervical cancer will aim to analyze the effectiveness of prevention through screening and vaccination, treatment plans catered to staging, as well as the current challenges and prospective solutions for metastatic care. The vulvovaginal cancer research will do a comprehensive research into vulvar and vaginal cancer diagnosis, treatment, and statistics. Then, research into anal canal cancer will explain the screening methods used and common symptoms that are observed, outline the diagnosis process, and elaborate on the various treatments available. Research into oropharyngeal (head and neck) cancer will highlight the current state of screening and diagnostics, as well as treatment methodologies.</dc:description>
